This is the sort of sauce that makes me want to put a plate of something messy in front of myself and forget about cutlery. The roasted peppers give it a darker edge, while lime cuts through with enough sharpness to keep things lively. Garlic, cumin and paprika add the savoury warmth, and the habanero makes sure there’s still a little mischief in the bottle. Tacos and burritos are obvious. Eggs are an excellent idea. Pour it over nachos, grilled meat or a bowl of rice and beans when dinner needs some persuasion. The heat is perfectly manageable, too. You get enough chilli to notice it without having to sign a liability waiver before breakfast.
